Aclaí Abú 24!

Bhí deireadh seachtaine speisialta againn le Aclaí Abú 24! Bhí 27 páistí bunscoile páirteach san imeacht faoin spéir. Bhí siad ag imirt cois trá, ag dreapadóireacht sna sléibhte, ag déanamh ióga agus ag foghlaim faoi plandaí agus feithidí.

Ba mhaith le Glór Uachtar Tíre buíochas ollmhór a thabhairt do Chomhairle Ceantar an Iúir, Mhúrn agus an Dúín as tacú leis an imeacht ar leith seo. Tá Glór Uachtar Tíre buíoch do Sheannaghmore Outdoor Learning Centre agus don Mourne Shack as a gcuid tacaíocht flaithiúil le Aclaí Abú.

Ach cha dtarlóidh Aclaí Abú gan an fhoireann den scoth á eagrú; bhí Aodhán Mac Ruairí i mbun an chúrsa agus bhí Áine Níc Luirg, Róisín Ní Shluáin agus Pól Mac Cana in a gCeannairí ar an chúrsa. Foireann ar leith a bith ann! Fuair GUT tacaíocht iontach leis an siúlóid sléibhte ó Ceannairí Sléibhte, Caris McKnight, Míceal Maguire agus Damien Tracey agus thug Siofán Carson cuidiú den scoth leis an siúlóid chomh maith. Tugann Glór Uachtar Tíre ár mbuíochas do na tuismitheoirí a bhí páirteach i gcuid den deireadh seachtaine agus do na tuistí ar fad fa choinne á gcuid tacaíóchta leis an imeacht.

Le na chois, sin bhí cuid de na daoine óga atá páirteach sa sraith réamh-imeachtaí Ghaisce, Spreagtha faoin Spéir, ar an siúlóid sléibhte agus cur siad go mór leis an atmaisféar draiochta den lá ar fad.

We had a fantastic weekend with Aclaí Abú 24! There were 27 primary school children participating in the outdoors event. They played on the beach, hill-walked, practiced yoga and learned about plants and insects.

Glór Uachtar Tíre would like to sincerely thank Newry, Mourne and Down District Council for their support with this wonderful event. Glór Uachtar Tíre is also grateful Shannaghmore Outdoor Learning Centre and to The Mourne Shack for their generous support with Aclaí Abú.

But Aclaí Abú couldn't have happened without the amazing team behind it; Aidan Rodgers coordinated the course and Áine Nic Luirg, Róisín Sloan and Pól Mac Cana assisted with it. A super team! GUT received great help with the mountain walk from Mountain Leaders; Caris McKnight, Míceal Maguire and Damien Tracey and Steven Carson also provided super support with the walk. A big thank you also goes out to the many parents to participated in parts of the weekend and to all the parents support for the event.

In addition, some of the young people who are participating in the series of pre-Gaisce events, Spreagtha faoin Spéir, were on the mountain walk and they greatly contributed to the magical dynamic of the whole day.
